Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s iconic safari destinations, famous for its large elephant herds, open savannah landscapes and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. The park offers excellent opportunities to see elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and many other wildlife species. Its wetlands and seasonal water sources also attract a wide variety of birds, making Amboseli an excellent destination for wildlife viewing and photography.
The best time to visit Amboseli is generally during the dry seasons from June to October and January to February. During these months, wildlife is often easier to spot as animals gather around available water sources, while the weather is generally suitable for game drives and photography. The months of November and December can bring short rains, creating greener landscapes, while March to May is the wetter season.
