Tsavo East National Park is one of Kenya’s largest protected areas and a remarkable destination for wildlife safaris. The park is famous for its vast open landscapes, red-coloured soil and large herds of elephants. Travellers can also encounter lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos and many bird species while exploring the park on game drives.
The best time to visit Tsavo East is generally from June to October and January to February, when dry conditions make wildlife easier to spot around rivers and water sources. The green seasons can also be rewarding, offering lush scenery, migratory birds and excellent photography opportunities.
