Burigi-Chato National Park

Burigi-Chato National Park is a remote and scenic wilderness destination in northwestern Tanzania, known for its diverse landscapes of savannah, woodlands, wetlands and lakes. The park is home to elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species. Its lakes, rivers and relatively untouched surroundings offer travellers an authentic safari experience away from the more visited northern parks.

The best time to visit Burigi-Chato is generally from June to October, during the dry season when wildlife is easier to spot around water sources and roads are more accessible. The wetter months bring greener landscapes, seasonal wetlands and abundant birdlife, although some areas may become more difficult to access.

Best for: Remote safaris, lakes and wetlands, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, nature, photography and wilderness experiences.
