Day Itinerary
Morning: Flight to Mikumi and Safari Arrival
Begin your day with a transfer to the airport in Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam, according to your departure arrangements. Board your scheduled flight to the Mikumi area or the designated airstrip serving the park. Upon arrival, meet your safari guide and begin your wildlife adventure, subject to the flight schedule and local arrangements.
Morning to Afternoon: Game Drive in Mikumi National Park
Explore Mikumi National Park in a safari vehicle with an experienced guide who will help you spot wildlife and explain the park’s ecosystem. Search the open plains and woodland for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest and antelopes. With favourable conditions, you may also encounter lions or other predators. Enjoy opportunities for wildlife photography and learn about the behaviour of the animals and the habitats they depend on.
Take a break for lunch at an appropriate location, depending on your package arrangements and the day’s schedule. After lunch, continue exploring the park, visiting areas where wildlife activity is promising. Animal sightings cannot be guaranteed, as wildlife moves freely throughout the park.
Afternoon: Return Flight
After your game drive, transfer to the designated airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam. On arrival, continue with your onward arrangements or transfer, if included in your confirmed package, bringing your one-day Mikumi safari to an end.
