Day 1 – Lake Manyara Canopy Walkway & Wildlife Safari
Pick-Up from Arusha or Kilimanjaro, Treetop Walk & Game Drive
Begin with a morning pick-up from your preferred hotel, residence, or airport in Arusha, including Arusha Airport (ARK), or in Kilimanjaro, including Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Moshi Town. Travel in a private 4×4 safari vehicle through the scenic Great Rift Valley towards Lake Manyara National Park.
Upon arrival, experience the Lake Manyara Canopy Treetop Walkway, where suspended bridges take you above the forest floor for a unique perspective of the surrounding vegetation and birdlife. Look out for blue monkeys, baboons, hornbills, and other forest inhabitants as you explore the canopy walkway, subject to availability and park operating conditions.
Continue with a game drive through the park’s groundwater forest and open woodland towards the shores of Lake Manyara. Search for large baboon troops, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. Depending on the season and water conditions, you may also spot flamingos along the lake, while the park’s famous tree-climbing lions are an exciting possibility.
Take a break for a packed bush picnic lunch at a designated picnic site inside the park before continuing your afternoon wildlife drive. Later, leave the park and enjoy a scenic return transfer to your preferred drop-off location or airport in Arusha or Kilimanjaro.
