Begin your day with an early morning pick-up from your preferred hotel, residence, or airport in Arusha, including Arusha Airport (ARK), or in the Kilimanjaro area, including Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Moshi Town. Travel north for approximately 1.5 hours through the beautiful Maasai steppe toward Longido town near the Namanga border region.
Guided Forest Trek with Local Maasai Guides
Meet your local Maasai guides and start your Mount Longido hiking adventure. Follow forest trails, rocky paths, and natural water channels while learning about the mountain’s environment, local traditions, and the relationship between the Maasai community and the surrounding landscape.
Birdwatching, Wildlife Tracking & Mountain Views
Look out for forest birdlife, including turacos and weavers, and watch for wildlife such as baboons and antelopes where conditions allow. As you gain elevation, enjoy opportunities for panoramic views across the surrounding plains toward Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, weather permitting.
Picnic Lunch & Descent
Take a break to enjoy your packed picnic lunch in a suitable spot along the trail. After lunch, descend with your Maasai guides toward the base village, taking time to appreciate the forest scenery and the area’s cultural significance.

After completing the hike, meet your driver-guide for a comfortable return transfer to your preferred hotel, residence, or airport in Arusha or the Kilimanjaro area, concluding your Mount Longido day adventure in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on hiking conditions.
